Ledisi’s Christmas CD, It’s Christmas would be a great record to listen to for inspiration…Christina Aguilera’s…Kristen Chenoweth, Linda Eder and Amy Grant all have great CDs.
i would love to hear you record a mix of original tunes (maybe something about Christmas in NYC…)…and some classics…
I’ll Be Home for Christmas/Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
a jazzy-Chicago-esque Winter Wonderland
Love Came Down at Christmas
Silent Night (acoustic)
River
Baby, It’s Cold Outside (duet with Jordan Knight?)
and rare oldies that have never been revamped like:
I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas
A Christmas album would be a nice addition to 2010’s holiday season…hope a dancable/pop album drops first…
I would like to see a christmas album similar to this with the oldies and newbiewes .

If you could find a great male singer to duet with I would say
1.Baby it’s cold outside.
2.Mary did you know
3.Let it snow
4.all I want for Christmas is you
5.christnmas Baby please come home
6.It’s Christmas time again

Hey! I definately think “Baby Its cold outside”……….a duet would be great! You should collaborate with Harry Conick Jr. or Michael Buble…don’t say I didn’t tell you so!
Great news! It’s Christmas for Deb fans even on January 15!
Well, as a singer-songwriter you’ve got to include some originals (don’t let Mariah be the only one to think she can single-handedly create a Christmas anthem)!
I vote to include all of the Christmas songs you’ve ever done; the album will be partially finished! However, I think we need a few more BRAND NEW GIBSON originals
So…
1) CHRISTMAS WITHOUT YOU (Gibson)
2) TAKE ME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS (Gibson)
3) GIBSON ORIGINAL (we know you have it in you!)
4) GIBSON ORIGINAL (we know you have it in you!)
plus…
5) SILENT NIGHT (Gibson version, as on Women of Christmas or new)
6) SLEIGH RIDE (Gibson version, as on A Very Special Christmas 2 or new)
then a few oldies but goodies…
7) CHRISTMAS TIME (popularized by C. Aguilera)
8) I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
9) HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS
10) THESE ARE THE SPECIAL TIMES (popularized by C. Dion/C. Aguilera)
11) WHAT CHILD IS THIS? (I liked Vanessa Williams’ jazzy swing version also on AVSC2, but I want to hear the Gibson spin on this!)
12) BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE (I love Carrie Aspan & Ben’s suggestion for this, definitely a duet between you and Buble, or Connick Jr., or Mraz, or even John Mayer, who had such a crush on you back in the day, as we all know?
13) LAST CHRISTMAS (at Ben’s & Sock Puppet’s suggestions, a great nod to the era!)
14) CHRISTMAS THROUGH YOUR EYES (popularized by G. Estefan, at Delray’s suggestion)
There are so many other choices that you could do! Excited!
I would love to hear you do Xmas Baby Please Come Home. The same song that U2 does on the Very Special Christmas Album. You would do an Incredible job on this song.

One option is to avoid the classic carols and do your versions of modern classics, including perhaps one or two songs of your own. My play-list of 7 modern classics:
“Winter Wonderland” is one of my favorites, but beyond that I’d like to suggest that it follow the style of “Sleigh Ride” from AVSC2. I love the ’50s/’60s feel of that recording; it makes it timeless, and I still hear it on the radio and in stores on a regular basis throughout the holidays.
“Breath of Heaven” was the very first song that came to mind for me, too. Amy Grant’s rendition was beautiful- a quiet and lovely song, perfect for simple voice and piano.
“chestnuts…” – that one HAS to be on any true Christmas album!!!
– What Child Is This?
– Santa Baby (of course!)
– Let There Be Peace On Earth (I LOVE this song, and not many people cover it.)
– O Come All Ye Faithful (BIG, bombastic!)
– O Holy Night
– Silent Night (soft, reflective – I love Mannheim’s version.)
– Christmas Waltz (originally done by Frank Sinatra, I think, but covered many times)
– Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
– Silver Bells
– maybe one or two medleys so that you can get some extra standards in there
– one or two original songs
I suggest the “Little drummer boy” its a beautiful song (the little boy offers to a baby Jesus only what he have… a drum play… and Jesus smile to him) π
Ledisi’s Christmas CD, It’s Christmas would be a great record to listen to for inspiration…Christina Aguilera’s…Kristen Chenoweth, Linda Eder and Amy Grant all have great CDs.

I agree with the first post.
“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” would be perfect for you!
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. You’d do an awesome version!
Merry F*cking Christmas from the South Park TV show. I’d LOVE it!
Santa Baby!! No brainer!! You would sound fantastic! Oh, I Want a Hippopotomus for Christmas also!! Cmon! It’d be fun!!
O Holy Night…. straight piano and vocals… would be classy
How about “Merry Christmas From The Family”
a different kind of christmas by Leann rimes or original ones ur a amazing writer!
YAY! You would do an AWESOME Christmas album. How about “Sleigh Ride” and “All I Want for Christmas is You”? “Santa Baby” would be a great one too!!
Hi from Japan. I’d love to hear you singing “The Christmas Song” (Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…) This is my favorite.
Silver Bells… my all time favourite!
Merry Christmas, darling by the carpenters…
Original Holiday songs written and produce by Deborah Gibson. This would be an awesome collection and everyone will remember.
Jingle Bell Rock
I would like to see a christmas album similar to this with the oldies and newbiewes .

Okay Deb…You asked for it!
My Dream Christmas CD….
Hard Candy Christmas – I think this would be a great song for you vocally. Maybe a guitar only.
Last Christmas – Okay, this one might not be a good choice but I like the song. It would be fun and upbeat.
Grown Up Christmas List – I know this one has been done a lot lately. But I would love to hear your spin on it. Maybe with a choir of children!
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – In a Judy Garland style. Heavy vocals.
O Holy Night – Like Miss T said “straight piano and vocals”.
White Christmas – Maybe a jazzy version
Santa Baby – Eartha Kitt style. Madonna sounded like a 4 year old in her version.
What Child Is This – maybe lush and orchestral.
Thanks for asking for our suggestions!
Cheryl that is a great idea for Hardy Candy Christmas never would have thought of it for Deborah but I did love Dolly Partons version. But Deborah would be awesome!!!
Double CD would be awesome.
1st disc – The above track 1- 12
2nd disc – Original Christmas, holiday songs.
Patty I love Dolly’s version too! And I also think Deborah would be amazing.
Okay Deb, Patty and I vote for Hard Candy Christmas! LOL
Have yourself a merry little christmas
Make it home – Juliana Hatfield
(from the My-So-Called-Life soundtrack. It’s based on Silent Night – you should do a medley!)
White Christmas
O Holy Night
The Christmas Wish – as sung by Kermit from John Denver & the Muppet Christmas. A very sweet non-sappy song.
Your original songs
Ben – original DGIF member #3000ish
I want to hear Silent Night
God bless you

Hey I love the song Silver Bells. Please think about it.
“Last Christmas”
Maybe original songs, though more uptempo and done in big band style.
Also “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, which ironically “Only In My Dreams” is part of the lyrics.
I would love Deb to cover a christmas duet here is a Filipino singer Jose Mari Chan “Christmas In Our Hearts” here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSCKqCgbdZM and one again from Jose Mari Chan “Perfect Christmas” here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzdPcW66co8 Hope Deb you will cover this song.

I really hope you do this – it will be amazing!!
Hey! I definately think “Baby Its cold outside”……….a duet would be great! You should collaborate with Harry Conick Jr. or Michael Buble…don’t say I didn’t tell you so!
I think you would sound so fabulous on “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Merry Christmas, Darling.”

These are my faves:
Happy Xmas war is over
