Deb to release Ms. Vocalist album in Japan
On November 3, Sony Music Japan International will release “Ms. Vocalist.” The album is all new recordings of Debbie Gibson covering 10 Japanese hit singles, plus a duet with Mr. Vocalist Eric Martin and a Japanese version of “Lost In Your Eyes.” Gibson had such an amazing time singing these timeless and beloved Japanese hit songs. She is excited to return to Japan after almost a decade, and perform these songs and more at the “Retrolicious” concert on October 9. Get your tickets now!

Wow! A new Debbie Gibson album is set to be released in Japan? I think that is so cool! I’m still gonna enjoy it even though the songs on the album are all cover songs only! I’m such a huge fan of songs like the Southern All Stars’ “Tsunami”, Yutaka Ozaki’s “I Love You”, and Hirai Ken’s “Close Your Eyes (Hitomi Wo Tojite)”, but Debbie’s a woman. Why are there absolutely no songs by female J-POP artists? What about songs by Utada Hikaru (the “Japanese Debbie Gibson”) or Hamasaki Ayumi?

It’s all very well Deb saying this LP MAY be released on U.S iTunes but what about the rest of her worldwide fans who are trying to keep faith but are finding it harder & harder as time goes on without any new music. 7 years is a long time to wait.

Crikey, just looked up Eric Martin who does the Mr Vocalists albums. He has released 4 albums like this in 2 years, including a Christmas one. More importantly he did an album of covers voted for by fans. If Debs album is usccessful can we expect the same? Don’t get me wrong I would love an album of original material but there are many songs I would love to hear her cover.
Deborah, you should put a tour out!! There are lot of fans waiting for it. I live in Brazil and I went to NYC 4 years ago to see you live (at Canal Room). That was fantastic. Next year I`ll go to NYC again (in April or in June)… Are you planning any live concert for these period?? Let me know in advance, ok??
I`m not into Japanese music, but I`m really curious about this CD because it`s a very hard language to speak. I studied Japanese when I was 15-year old. I still can say a word or two.

as interesting as this is, I’m far more excited about Debbie’s upcomingt US release “Rising Sun”, which includes her upcoming single “Cougar”. it’ll be Debbie’s first major label alum since 1995! I think she’s got a great chance at radio play wit a real label supporting her now and a fantastic single like “Cougar”

Would love to find a place in the U.S. to get this…Amazon Japan has it for just under $50.00, but you can order it pre-sale [it says the release date is 11-23-2010} but the sony japan says it released 11-03…communication breakdown anyone…
