Sorry things have been so quiet here the last few days, I was up in San Francisco on business (non-DG related). But with that said, I stopped by the studio yesterday to see how things were going with the recording bootcamp and am excited to report back what I found! First off, I missed some of the others, but while I was there, I got to watch Kaleigh Jo and Kasey working on their songs and they were so insanely talented that I had chills listening to them sing. Kaleigh Jo has a song on her myspace right now called “My Smile” and I definitely recommend a listen! http://www.myspace.com/kaleighjokirk. Also, check out Kasey’s songs over at http://www.myspace.com/kaseyiaeger. They are currently in the studio working with Deborah on some new original music and to call it impressive is an understatement. I am always amazed at how a young heart can sing the from the depths of an old soul when given the opportunity.
And speaking of new music, Deborah played me a new track that she is working on and all I can say is OH MY GOD! I can’t tell you anything about it, but what I can tell you is, this could be THE song that puts our girl back in the spotlight. It’s relevant, catchy and electric and I can’t wait until she can share it with the world!
And if that wasn’t enough, a box arrived to the studio from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where they had been using some of her costumes for a traveling exhibition. I was right there with my camera as she pulled out a box of the famous outfits from her Out of the Blue video, the blue leather jacket and pants from the Electric Youth Tour, an outfit from the Electric Youth video, the jacket she wore during In The Still Of The Night during the Out of the Blue Tour and the actual jacket she wore on the cover of the Electric Youth album! If you want something to be jealous of, she fit into all of it!!!
I’m going to stop by later today and we’ll get a new video for the site. In the meantime, here are the photos from yesterdayโฆ
hi,deborah it is so good to see you singing again,i have a fan for over 20 yrs ! you are so talented.
Wow the blue EY blazer! LOVE it
Cool, maybe she could wear them if there’s a music video or a photo shoot. ๐
Can’t wait f or new material, and she will definately get her long awaited comeback. Despite what haters have told me in other forums,
The jacket with the triangeles and pink pants looks more Ting Tings than Deb (generation thing, I know)… though some ’80’s fashionare back like leggings. ๐
that’s hilarious. the outfit her sis made especially brings back the teen beat memories. ๐
Good to see that your clothes! What memories! Bellissimo! ๐
Thanks for the update! Can’t wait to hear the knew song and it was a blast looking the the pics of her old clothes.
Those pictures are just awesome and bring back SUCH memories for me. I can remember you in all those outfits so vividly. I can’t even begin to imagine the memories it’s bringing back for you, Deborah. It must be just crazy… but good. ๐
Best of luck to Kaleigh Jo and Kasey! They have definitely been blessed with talent!
God Bless!
PS: Cannot WAIT to hear more about this new track!!
LOL yeah I actually was able to make it too Cleveland to Rock Hall a few years ago when they had Deb’s stuff on display. well hard not to when its only 4 hours in the same state away. Same trip I saw the creepy Body worlds Exhibit at the Great Lake science Center next door.
Wow, the Electric Youth Jacket from the album cover.
Thats Awsome to see you still have that!
I always loved the plaid ruffled skirt outfit (and I believe there’s a matching red plaid outfit too). I had quite a few of those ruffled skirts myself back in the day! Never realized her sister made it… wow!
Good memories.
Those photos are fab – The Blue Jacket from EY is truly hideous…LOL
Happy memories…
Wow! Nice pictures Deb! that is great to know about the bootcamp well i love the song which Kaleigh did more catchy. Kasey you have to record a dance track that will be fascinating. It’s amazing that there are still Deb’s costume in the past years. I love the looks of Deb on the tour book when she was a teenager hope that her face will be back in that pics she holding but you know we grow and changes are looks when we get older. Deb i can’t wait to hear your new songs jive in a more R&B songs and collaborate with black american’s like what mariah carey did. Are you both Mariah & you are friends? And to Bob Merrick wow you are a great guy! You keep the site updated all i can say you are so talented. Deb i can’t wait to hear your new song make a new version of electric youth You go Girl!!!!
Great stuff
You should wear the black sparkling jacket with the big D on it for at least one song at the 80’s nostalgia show in april that would rock
My friend Deborah. « Planet Baub… Out of My Head!
