Sorry things have been so quiet here the last few days, I was up in San Francisco on business (non-DG related). But with that said, I stopped by the studio yesterday to see how things were going with the recording bootcamp and am excited to report back what I found! First off, I missed some of the others, but while I was there, I got to watch Kaleigh Jo and Kasey working on their songs and they were so insanely talented that I had chills listening to them sing. Kaleigh Jo has a song on her myspace right now called “My Smile” and I definitely recommend a listen! http://www.myspace.com/kaleighjokirk. Also, check out Kasey’s songs over at http://www.myspace.com/kaseyiaeger. They are currently in the studio working with Deborah on some new original music and to call it impressive is an understatement. I am always amazed at how a young heart can sing the from the depths of an old soul when given the opportunity.
And speaking of new music, Deborah played me a new track that she is working on and all I can say is OH MY GOD! I can’t tell you anything about it, but what I can tell you is, this could be THE song that puts our girl back in the spotlight. It’s relevant, catchy and electric and I can’t wait until she can share it with the world!
And if that wasn’t enough, a box arrived to the studio from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where they had been using some of her costumes for a traveling exhibition. I was right there with my camera as she pulled out a box of the famous outfits from her Out of the Blue video, the blue leather jacket and pants from the Electric Youth Tour, an outfit from the Electric Youth video, the jacket she wore during In The Still Of The Night during the Out of the Blue Tour and the actual jacket she wore on the cover of the Electric Youth album! If you want something to be jealous of, she fit into all of it!!!
I’m going to stop by later today and we’ll get a new video for the site. In the meantime, here are the photos from yesterday…
